School's Out Power Up for Summer Fun[FAYETTEVILLE, NC]— With summer right around the corner, it’s time to think about keeping children healthy while school is out. Cumberland County Schools’ Child Nutrition Services provides free meals to children during the summer.

This summer, meals will be served at various locations around the county on Monday through Friday, starting June 12, 2017, through July 28, 2017, [check individual sites for serving times]. There are no income requirements or registration. Anyone age 18 or younger may come to eat.

Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Cumberland County Schools’ Child Nutrition Services, to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. Cumberland County sites participating in summer meals include, but are not limited to, the following:

Congratulations to the Stedman Elementary School Beta Club.  They have earned the honor of “School of Merit” through the National Beta Club organization. They have completed many community projects this year and have even “Gone Global” with their fund raising activities. Way to go Mrs. Pankey and all of the Beta Club Members.
