Hello and greetings from Stedman Elementary School, “Home of the Rams.”  This is my ninth year serving as principal and I am just as excited to serve as principal of such a wonderful school now, as I was June 2011. Stedman is a small, family-oriented community that has produced generations of successful students.  It is truly fulfilling to work with a staff that is so dedicated, hardworking, and committed to students and their achievements.  I am a firm believer that all students can learn and achieve excellence.  Our staff, students, parents, and community leaders diligently work together to provide every child the tools needed to be successful.

Stedman Elementary has been recognized by the state of North Carolina as an “Honor School of Excellence.”  We also received recognition as a “National Title I Distinguished School for Sustained Student Achievement” and represented Region 4 for North Carolina, which covers eleven counties, at the state level.  Stedman has closed the academic achievement gap with our students.  These great accomplishments are results of team effort.  The team includes students, staff members, parents, extended family members, and community leaders.  I am honored to be afforded the opportunity to lead such an outstanding group of people.

My plans are to continue working diligently to continue the tradition of high student achievement by empowering and supporting the staff and strengthening the ties with the community.  The curriculum and state requirements have changed.  The staff is dedicated to teaching and reaching all of our students with the Common Core curriculum, so our students can achieve excellence and become successful learners.   My desire is to continue being a listening ear and supporting figure for the staff, parents, and community leaders because together we can provide the resources that will allow all students to be successful.  Together we will pave the way for Stedman students to continue becoming successful professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders in our community.
